BugattiI am excited as I got a photograph juried into the 2018 Shades of Gray Show at the New Mexico Fine Arts Gallery. The photo is called "Veyron in London". It is an image of a 2 million dollar Bugatti Veyron that was sitting on the streets of London in 2016. The car is a work of art besides being a 230+mph super car. It was stunning in its deep blue color with black accents but, when I converted the image to black and white, the persona of the car sprang to life. The deep black gave the car more character and the reflective surfaces became more prominent; emphasizing the beauty of the shape. I chose to de-emphasize everything behind the car to assure the viewers do not lose the automoble's epic beauty in the clutter of the background. This was done by converting the background into a pen-and-ink line drawing. This preserves the essence of a London city street backdrop but doesn't distract one's attention from the beauty of the main character in the scene: the Bugatti Veyron. Please visit the New Mexico Fair grounds Fine Arts Galley from Dec. 1st until Dec. 27th from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM or you can buy this photo on this website. Comments
