New Aircraft Photo

January 15, 2019  •  1 Comment

This is a recreation of a photo I took in 1971 when I was in the US Air Force pilot training program. The aircraft are T-38 Talons and I learned to fly in one of them. The original photo was taken with an Instamatic almost 50 years ago so you can probably guess it's condition now. I decided to recreate the photo when I found a deactivated T-38 suspended in the air on a post at the Gallop, NM airport. I was able to photograph it at the correct angle to remake the photo. I combined the Gallop photo with parts of the original 1971 photo and a sky photo I took about 10 years ago. I also drew parts of the photo by hand on the computer.

If you have an old photo you would like refreshed or recreated, please let me know. I will gladly look at the photo and let you know if I can repair or remake the shot for you. Just scan your original photo and email it to me at [email protected]. Give me a brief description of what you would like done and I'll let you know if I can do it. Also, if you have a nice photo that you would like enhanced and printed on canvas or metal I'll be happy to look at your project and Evening 2-ShipEvening 2-ShipThese aircraft are USAF T-38 Talons & the aircraft that I flew in pilot training in 1971. It's a supersonic jet fighter that once held the time-to-climb world record...stopped on a runway to 35,000 feet in 65 seconds!!! That's correct, 65 seconds. The typical airliner takes 30 minutes to reach that altitude. On takeoff, the aircraft can reach 690 mph in less than 12,000 ft of runway.

The photo is a recreation of one I took in 1971 when I was in pilot training. It's a combination of a few parts of the original photo, a sky shot I took 10 years ago and a photo of the plane I took recently. Some parts of the photo I hand drew on a computer. I had fun recreating this scene & I hope you enjoy it.
give you a price,

Please enjoy the T-38 photo. If you would like to purchase a copy, please go to the "Planes, Trains and Automobiles" gallery on my website.
